Human Trafficking Awareness Event at St. Michael’s Church on March 3

St. Michael and All Angels Church will host an awareness event on Thursday, March 3 from 6 to 7:30 pm.
The subject of the presentation is “Combating Human Trafficking through Awareness and Action”
Nola Theiss, founder and executive director of Human Trafficking Awareness Partnerships (HTAP) will be the speaker. HTAP is a 501©3 non-profit organization founded in 2006 on Sanibel. Nola and others were inspired by the work of the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva in spearheading the Lee County Human Trafficking Task Force in 2005. HTAP’s mission is to guide community leaders to form effective coalitions to fight human trafficking on a local level and to develop programs to prevent the crime, especially among young American girls. All are welcome.
